What is Virtual Connected Literacy?
The Connected Literacy Program is a FREE virtual tutoring program offered through a partnership with Hamilton County Schools, Tennessee Department of Education, and the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga.
Allows parents and guardians to choose the most convenient schedule for the family.
Offers students 12 weeks of free, virtual literacy tutoring.
30-minute tutoring session is focused on literacy skills.
Sessions are held with no more than three students at a time, ensuring that each student’s individual needs are met.
Virtual sessions will be offered on Tuesdays between 5:00 – 7:00 pm & Saturdays between 9:00 – noon.

OUR FOCUS
The goal of the program is to slow down or prevent the development of type 2 diabetes through creating healthier lifestyle habits. The lifestyle change curriculum focuses on group empowerment, problem solving, and allows participants to get feedback on food tracking along with weekly weigh-ins.
FOUNDATIONAL LITERACY
SKILLS
Students access current HCS literacy curriculum to ensure alignment with classroom instruction.
LITERACY GOALS
Tutors work one-on-one or in small groups with students to help assess and accomplish their individual literacy goals.
TUTORS
All tutors are Hamilton County School educators or a trained tutor. Students participate virtually, twice a week in 30-minute sessions.
