It is our mission at the Urban League to help make Chattanooga a place where African Americans and other disadvantaged persons are able to secure economic self reliance, parity, power, and civil rights—where people from all walks of life can live happy, healthy and successful lives. Our four core empowerment areas—education, financial stability, workforce development and health and wellness—help us achieve this mission and create a greater Chattanooga.

With the support from local, state, and national partners, the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga is preparing students as well as adults for academic success by offering the following educational programs:

To eradicate poverty and to help families overcome financial hurdles and achieve financial freedom, the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga partners with local, state, and federal organizations to offer workshops and programs including:

The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga is authorized for operation as a postsecondary education institution by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. In order to view detailed job placement and graduation information on the programs offered by the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga, please visit the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and click on the "Authorized Institutions Data button." There is no cost for enrollment.

No THEC authorized programs are being offered during toe 2012-2013 fiscal year; as such, there is no information posted related to the "cost of programs."

Transferability of Credits Disclosure:

The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga is a special purpose institution. That purpose is empowering African Americans and other underserved individuals to enter the economic and social mainstream. This purpose does not include preparing students for further college study. Students should be aware that transfer of credit is always the responsibility of the receiving institution. Whether or not credits transfer is solely up to the receiving institution. Any student interested in transferring credit hours should check with the receiving institution directly to determine to what extent, if any, credit hours can be transferred.

Credits earned at the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga may not transfer to another educational institution. Credits earned at another educational institution may not be accepted by the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga. You should obtain confirmation that the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga will accept any credits you have earned at another educational institution before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement. You should also contact any educational institutions that you may want to transfer credits earned at the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga to determine if such institutions will accept credits earned at the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga prior to executing an enrollment contract or agreement. The ability to transfer credits from the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga to another educational institution may be very limited. Your credits may not transfer and you may have to repeat courses previously taken at the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga if you enroll in another educational institution.

You should never assume that credits will transfer to or from any educational institution. It is highly recommended and you are advised to make certain that you know the transfer of credit policy of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga and of any other educational institutions you may in the future want to transfer the credits earned at the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement. There is no cost for enrollment.
