To help citizens gain a better understanding of the political process, the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga sponsors political forums on a variety of topics, including non-partisan opportunities to meet candidates during election cycles and discussions of pertinent community issues.
The Urban League also works in partnership with several community organizations, including the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Chattanooga, and UTC, to host seminars focused on how to run for public office. Featuring a panel of elected officials, these seminars are designed to support the emergence of a diverse group of new leaders who have the tools to effectively engage in the local election process.
These forums and seminars are typically scheduled during election cycles; the online calendar provides a listing of all upcoming events.
