Just Imagine...
Imagine for a moment a community where kids who were formerly written off as "too hard to teach"
and "not capable of learning" were suddenly being exposed to committed and accountable
teachers and conquering course work far in excess of their respective grade levels and scoring
at optimal levels on national exams.
Imagine for a moment these same kids expressing themselves with "please" and "thank you" and "please excuse me" and "may I help you please" and "I don't do drugs".
Imagine for a moment, men and women who were formerly dependent on public assistance now being equipped with razor's edge job skills and enjoying the pride of homeownership, economic self-sufficiency and a much higher quality of life for themselves and their children.
Imagine for a moment, estranged fathers taking ownership of their kids, paying the freight and helping to raise the bar of expectation for their family as a God-ordained unit.
Imagine for a moment, a community where racial, cultural, and religious differences are celebrated instead of frowned upon. Where differences serve to unite us instead of divide us. Where nobody even remotely implies that the architect of the universe made a mistake, when He made us different.
Imagine for a moment that community is Chattanooga.
It is possible with your support of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga.
