Urban League Seeks Funds To Keep Sculpture PDF Print E-mail

If the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga doesn't raise $30,000 by Dec. 1, the organization could lose the 20-foot stainless steel statue on its lawn.

"It's the first piece of public art on M.L. King Boulevard, and it's obviously noticeable, due to the size of it," Warren E. Logan Jr., the Urban League's president and CEO, said of the statue known as the "Family Revolution."

Urban League Offers Express Path To Work PDF Print E-mail

The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga is recruiting energetic and work-driven individuals through Oct. 14 for the Career Express Construction Training Program.

“It’s going to teach basic construction with an added focus on highway construction,” said James McKissic, chief operating officer for the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga. “They will come out with three certifications — OSHA 10, a flagger and lane control certification as well as CPR and first aid.”
