The Urban League Opens the Entrepreneurship Center
The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga marked the opening of The Entrepreneurship Center by announcing its first course offering. SpringBoard is an eight-week business development course that outlines what it takes to start and run your own business. Enrollment begins on Wednesday, October, 5th and the cost for the entire course is $135 and available to the first fifteen qualified candidates.

You must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.; a resume with verifiable work history for the last ten years; it is also necessary to complete the Key Train or Work keys assessment.
Tutoring for low-income kids has been proven effective
A Sept. 12 article in The Tennessean, “Schools can’t prove taxpayer-funded tutoring helps,” alleged that common-sense tutoring for low-income kids is not effective. The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga has been providing free tutoring for hundreds of low-income kids over the past five years, so we know tutoring works.
