About Our Staff Warren E. Logan, Jr. Warren is a graduate of TN State University in addition to holding several management designations. A self acclaimed life-long learner, Mr. Logan has completed continuing education and leadership training at the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Center for Urban Leadership, New York, NY; the Texaco Management Institute for Leadership Training, White Plains, NY; and the Duke University Center for Executive Leadership. James H. McKissic James McKissic is a native of Cleveland, TN. He has worked in the nonprofit sector for the past sixteen years. James holds a Bachelor of Science in secondary education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, a Master of Public Administration in public and nonprofit management from the Robert F. Wagner School at New York University and an executive certificate from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. James is passionate about empowering communities and changing lives. He manages program operations at the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga. He is also a passionate arts advocate and painter, serving on the boards of the Association for Visual Arts (AVA), the City of Chattanooga Public Art Committee, Allied Arts, the Hunter Museum’s Audience Development Committee and the City of Chattanooga Office of Multicultural Affairs. Julia Anderson Julia Anderson is a native of Memphis TN and has resided in Chattanooga for the last 30 years, a city she believes is one of the most beautiful areas in the country. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for several years and loves interfacing with people. Julia holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee State University, with graduate work from Memphis University. She is committed to opening doors and providing an earning opportunity for people who have been displaced. Her faith and continuous prayers often help to make the journey more bearable for those who are seeking new careers. In her training classes, she gets excited about new and upcoming opportunities for participants and encourages them to stay strong and positive while going through the career development process. Her love for people keeps her grounded and looking for new opportunities. She feels that, together, they can achieve success—even in an environment that suggests otherwise. Julian Ewing Julian Jamaal Ewing is a native of Knoxville, TN. He recently moved to Chattanooga, from Nashville, Tennessee where he attended APSU for a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with a Communications Minor. In college he worked to pay for his education, working a variety of positions in hospitals, distribution warehouses, business offices and interning with the Walt Disney Corporation. While laboring in these jobs he found a natural passion and ability with technology, finding himself in working in roles where he handled most or all of the data entry, software installation and facilitating system operations for multiple sites. After college he worked for a few years in the Small and Medium Business Division at Dell Computer Inc., before relocating to Chattanooga, TN. In his time here in Chattanooga, he’s worked for a local IT firm as an account manager and office admin. As the Urban League’s Digital Connector’s Instructor, he shares his passion for IT with it’s students. He plans to go back to school to obtain a higher degree in the IT field. Email: jewing @ulchatt.net Pecola A. Lee Pecola A. Lee is a native of Chattanooga and graduated from Howard High School. She holds a Master of Science in Administration (with a concentration in Human Resources) from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Organization Management from Covenant College. She also holds several leadership designations, including: certification in Health & Quality of Life Division of Project Lead from the Nation Urban League; Whitney M. Young, Jr. Leadership Conference; Global Career Developmental Facilitation from The Center for Credentialing & Education; and PACE Facilitator from The University of Tennessee. Pecola has worked as the Community Health Navigator for the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga for eleven years, assisting disadvantaged individuals with access to the health resources they need to thrive. She is also an advocate for the American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association. She is a member of the Weed & Seed Health Taskforce, Health Prevention Committee, Youth Advisor, and a member of her church Scholarship Committee. Email: pecola @ulchatt.net
Keesha L. Marshall Keesha Marshall is a life-long resident of Chattanooga and has over 20 years of experience in administrative, finance, real estate and property management services. She also is a licensed realtor, residential property manager and a bonded Hamilton County, Tennessee Notary. Keesha is active in the community, serving as the Chair of the Economic Empowerment Committee for the Urban League Young Professionals Association. She holds an Associate's degree from Chattanooga State and is presently pursuing an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Alysia Najjar Alysia Najjar serves as a program assistant for the Urban League with focus on the Education programs. She enjoys working with people and watching them succeed. She graduated from Winthrop University in South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She looks forward to a career in serving others. Gabrielle Charles Sanders Gabrielle Charles Sanders is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and is a recent transplant to Chattanooga from Washington, DC, where she lived for eight years. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Howard University, a Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Sciences and a Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University's Paul M. Donna Thomas Donna Thomas is a native of Cleveland, TN. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Donna is the Coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program and is excited about the opportunity to provide tax assistance to an even greater number of low and moderate income families and individuals this year.
